Thank you for having me and my friends at the Swiss cheese fondue event!
This was my second time to enjoy cheese fondue in my life. We do not eat cheese that much in my country, and I had never tried cheese fondue in my country. So, cheese fondue was totally new to me, and I really like it as we enjoy it in a group. We have a similar dish called “Nabe” in Japan , which we enjoy with our family, especially in the winter time.
This time was my fourth time to join a Swiss Club event, and it is always a fun experience for me. Working as an Admissions Counselor at CPLC Education Center in San Francisco (an English Language School ), knowing different culture and people are very helpful experiences for me. We have about 100 international students from all over the world, including Asia , Europe , Middle East , and South America .
I am originally from Japan and was introduced to this Swiss club through Judit. We met at school many years ago, and since then we have been good friends. I learned from her that Switzerland has different regions with four spoken languages. I feel this is one reason why Swiss people always welcome me, coming from a different culture, and everyone makes me feel at home at the Swiss events.
In my country, everyone speaks only one language, and we all have the same hair and eye color and all look the same! It is not bad, but it is interesting to know that there are many countries in the world which are different from my country. Switzerland is one of them. And now we all are in California , which has so many diverse cultures and people. I feel lucky that we can learn so much about the world here.
Thank you to the Swiss Club!
