There was a wonderful feeling in the air ~ the spirit of Christmas, and the anticipation of seeing Santa for the first time!

This of course was the feeling for many of the children! It was a wonderful family experience to enjoy the culture of the Swiss Club during the Christmas season. Many specialty cookies were available for tasting, along with the warm apple-cider, coffee, tea and fresh home grown seasonal fruits, which decorated each table.

The real fun began however when the music started. It was a wonderful way to ring in the spirit of the holidays, together singing in both English and German -traditional holiday favorites. Each time we sang a new song, we were sure Santa was getting closer!

By the last song, Santa had finally arrived! With the children lining up to have a moment with him, they were each sent home with a special stocking stuffed with goodies! It was very well organized event, with attention to detail-the Swiss way of course. ;-)

Many thanks go out to the volunteers who of course made this happen. We especially enjoyed the home baked items such as the “Gritibenz” which were baked with lots of love!

To the ‘Spirit of Christmas’~

which was definitely in the air.
